On Thursday morning, during the ceremony to officially hand over 100 buses to senior high schools in the northern part of the country, the minister of education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh emphasized his previous statement. He inferred that implementation of the free senior high school policy by Akuffo-Addo’s government made the incumbent government outperform Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s government.
Earlier, division of the Ghanaian people showed doubt in the free SHS policy due to the lurking difficulty in implementing this policy. Some described it as an impossible task. However, the doubt did not stop the administration from fulfilling its promise in its first year of tenure.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh also said he is convinced that the Akuffo Addo’s government has performed better in the history of the country’s educational sector, compared to previous administrations.
The vice president, Dr Mahumudu Bawumia said the 100 buses are to manage the some of challenges that the SHS administrative heads are facing.
