GHANA TO RECEIVE THE COVID-19 VACCINE SOON – AKUFO-ADDO

The President commented on the newly discovered vaccine for the Covid-19 pandemic during his address to the Nation on the protocols to curtail the spread of the virus.

He made the public aware the vaccine will be efficient in the country’s fight against the pandemic.

Elsewhere in the US, some professionals in the health sectors have started administering the first shots of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines which have been approved as efficient with other countries placing huge volumes of orders.

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency of the United Kingdom has also made strides in that regard.

President Akufo-Addo during his Sunday night address expressed his optimism about the development and assured Ghanaians that he was in the known and has taken steps to put the country in line to take delivery soon.

During his 20th update to the Ghanaians on Ghana’s situation, President Akufo-Addo revealed that a team has been constituted under his instruction to work towards procuring some of the approved vaccines.

“To this end, I have put together a team of experts, from the relevant institutions and agencies, who are working assiduously towards the procurement and deployment of the vaccines in Ghana. The briefings held by the Ministry of Information will keep the nation updated on this matter,” he added.
