REAL MADRID AND JUVENTUS ARE OUT OF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

The UEFA Champions league has been in recession for five months due to the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic. It from the long break on Friday 7th August 2020. 

The return fixtures of the round of 16 saw Lyon traveling to Italy to face the Old ladies of Juventus, and Real Madrid going to Manchester to face Manchester City that defeated them in the first league in Madrid.

Lyon lost to Juventus with a final score of 1-2. Success of Juventus was championed by Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored the double. Unfortunately, Lyon qualified because of the advantage from their away goal scored by Memphis Depay in the previous leg. Their trump card resulted from the 3-3 final aggregate sum from both legs.

Meanwhile in England, Raheem Sterling bagged a goal for Manchester City through a shambolic defense from Verane. Benzema equalized before halftime. But Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus fired another shot pass goalkeeper Courtois to secure a place in the quarterfinals, during the last quarter.

Manchester city will face Lyon in the quarterfinals coming weeks.
