Consequent to the COVID-19 pandemic, the government of Ghana instituted some transport regulatory policies which includes reduction in the number of passengers per vehicles and increase in the transport fare. But subsequent increase in fuel price compelled some commercial vehicle drivers in parts of the country to catapult the transport fare.
Today, the Road Transport Operations released a communique in accent to government’s policies and safety protocol on COVID-19. The paper states that transport fare, which was increased by 15%, is now adjusted to 5% of the original price. Below is the press release:
